June 2026 Bible Reading Plan
As we step into June, I want us to take an honest look at something that matters deeply to the heart of God: the local church.
The church is not a building, a brand, a weekly event, or a platform built around a personality. The church belongs to Jesus.
He is the Head.
We are His people.
And Scripture gives us a clear picture of what His church is called to be.
A healthy local church should preach the Word, worship God, pray, make disciples, care for people, walk in holiness, develop biblical leadership, serve its community, protect unity, help those in need, and boldly proclaim the Gospel.
But Scripture also warns us about what the church must never become.
We cannot replace truth with popularity.
We cannot replace the presence of God with performance.
We cannot manipulate people for money, ignore sin, tolerate false teaching, show favoritism, abuse spiritual authority, or become so focused on ourselves that we forget the lost and hurting people outside our walls.
This month, I want us to study the biblical purpose of the local church.
Whether you are a pastor, leader, volunteer, or church member, these passages should challenge all of us.
The question is not simply, “Do I attend church?”
The deeper question is, “Are we becoming the kind of church Jesus intended us to be?”
My prayer is that throughout June, God will give us a renewed love for His church and the courage to build according to His Word rather than according to culture.

CLOSING ENCOURAGEMENT
As we come to the end of June, I want us to remember something simple but important:
The church belongs to Jesus.
Not to a pastor.
Not to a denomination.
Not to a personality.
Not to a political movement.
Not to a business model.
Jesus purchased the church with His own blood, and He alone has the right to define what His church should become.
A biblical church is not perfect because it is filled with imperfect people.
But it should continually be moving toward Jesus.
It should love truth.
It should preach the Gospel.
It should pray.
It should worship.
It should make disciples.
It should care for people.
It should protect the vulnerable.
It should develop healthy leaders.
It should confront sin without abandoning grace.
It should pursue unity without compromising truth.
It should use spiritual gifts to build people up.
It should give generously without manipulating people.
It should serve its community.
And it should never forget the lost.
We must also be willing to recognize what the church should not become.
The church should never become a place where leaders use spiritual authority to control people.
It should never become a stage built around personalities.
It should never hide sin to protect reputations.
It should never replace Scripture with culture.
It should never value wealthy or influential people more than everyone else.
It should never use fear, guilt, or pressure to manipulate giving.
And it should never become so focused on maintaining an organization that it forgets the mission Jesus gave us.
The goal is not simply to build bigger churches.
The goal is to build healthy churches.
Churches filled with the presence of God.
Churches grounded in Scripture.
Churches where people encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, discover their calling, receive healing and restoration, and are equipped to take the Gospel into the world.
And remember this:
You are not simply someone who goes to church.
If you belong to Jesus, you are part of His church.
So the health of the church begins with each one of us.
Let us become people who love truth.
People who pray.
People who serve.
People who forgive.
People who give.
People who disciple others.
People who protect unity.
People who stand for righteousness.
And people who carry the presence of Jesus wherever we go.
May our local churches become places where the Word of God is honored, the Holy Spirit is welcomed, Jesus is exalted, people are loved, and communities are transformed.
That is the church I believe Jesus is building.
And that is the church we should be determined to become.
